The Choice To Fear

Last night during bible study I came across an interesting verse in the bible which is as follows;

"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me" (John 14:1 KJV)

This was the first advice Jesus gave unto the disciples once he had announced his departure, being the first I felt it was more important than meets the eye. It seemed Jesus solely did not want his people to fear or worry for anything for reasons that out of a situation comes good.

I been thinking alot about fear today and its common characteristics. It’s a really big thing in the world and upon research I noted that the word fear is written in the bible exactly 365 times so I truly believe that every human being is faced with an issue of fear at least once every day. Whether it be worrying for a loved one or being in the midst of a serious situation your self were all faced with trials of fear. In theory there's no way to avoid the element of fear itself.

I got to thinking that we all struggle with different fears in our life according to our past experiences. For example, a young student may have been aggressively confronted today on their way back from University and before anything had even happened they were worried and feared for their lives or belongings. On the other hand, another person, for the sake of the arguement lets say a boxer, may have been wrongly confronted today by the same person but laughed in the attackers face.Same problem, different outcome.

I realised it’s not about the circumstance it’s about the person, their trained ability and their common nature to disapprove of the situation because of experience. Naturally as humans we fear and worry about what we don’t know, this being the case knowledge IS power. You no longer fear something when it becomes known or revealed to you; rather you give faith to your own abilities. Jesus told us not to fear or worry; anything told to us is heard with meaning and lived out by choice. In essence the choice not to fear was presented by him in the earlier verse.

I noticed that choosing to not fear would require knowledge of the element of fear itself and pondered these following thoughts in my head;I concluded that fear is believing your current circumstance (present) to be an imposing threat (future). It dictates your loose grip on your future and exposes the weakness in planning for what comes ahead.

Fear clouts and seeks to overpower your mind with your problem so you can't see the way out. Fears you local high school bully, which endeavours to corner you in the playground using its sheer size and intimidating nature.

The spirit of fear was the same spirit, which Adam and Eve was captured by after they ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It led them to believe that they needed to eat of the tree otherwise they would be missing out on something. God asked what the matter is because they saw and felt what God could not see, fear! And through fear Adam and Eve were conscious to their nakedness. They simply believed a lie.

Therefore fear is a lie, a tangible substance led to overpower your mind. If it is a lie then there is a truth. To every lie there's a truth, to every fear there's a faith! With fear there's ALWAYS a way out!

Fear – false evidence appearing real

Fear is a choice; the same that faith is a choice. Your situations outcome is down to you and not the issue, mentally we have the power to either edify or minimise and bring it to nought through your understanding and ability to stick by your belief.

Remember, don’t be scared of shadows because it’s proof that there is light.

Study the word for revelation of faith & truth.

God bless
AX
